Breakfast at the Sportsman
Join Director Dave for breakfast at The Sportsman then afterwards for a ride in the country.
Either meet Dave at The M25 Cobham Services leaving at 10.30 or make your own way to the pub to have a jolly brekkie with your SCUK mates. Food and drinks will be served from 10.30 when you can order everything from a Full English, a Veggie Breakfast or a lighter bite.
If you prefer to stay outside the building then food like bacon rolls and drinks are also available from the Coffee Hut in the beer garden.
The propritors are keen to welcome us and will cone off an area so we can park together for a photo-op. There is a CCTV number plate recognitioin system in operation to stop parking by non-pcustomers. Staff will note our numbers so we will not be charged for parking, if you wish you can also enter your own number in the terminal on the bar - its easy.
Around 13.00 feel free to join, (or not), Director Dave who will lead a rideout onto the scenic lanes of Surrey.
If you're making your own way then the address is:
The Sportsman, Mogador Road, Lower Kingswood, Surrey, KT20 7ES.
Google Satnav Ref: 51.264295, -0.224319
Folklore depicts that the original core of this wonderful building was a hunting lodge for Henry VIII, dated around 1532.
Surrounded by heathland, The Sportsman is renowned for dog walkers, ramblers, Walton Heath Golf Course, horse riders, runners, cyclists and family gatherings. It’s also a stopping point on the path of a traditional Derby Day walk through to the Epsom course.
With both bar and restaurant dining, the scenic frontage and extensive side gardens create a happy and jovial atmosphere for all ‘walks of life’. Seemingly, whatever the weather!
