Ride To The Wall 2021
Friday 1st to Sunday 3th October
You may register your intention to ride and/or support the event by making a £10 donation. You will receive a year bar for 2021 and your name can also be added to the scroll of attendance, recognising the contribution you have made and the pride and respect that you show for the sacrifice made by those with their names on the wall. You may also add a name to the scroll of remembrance.
As we ride to and from the National Memorial Arboretum towards the end of our regular rideout season this is also a good chance to think about those friends who were members of Surrey Chapter during the last 30 glorious years but who are no longer with us. This includes: Matthew Melly, David Carrick, Jeff Fallon, Carol Dube, Len & Margaret Harvey, Jim & Pat Basson, Steve Hutchinson, Mick Cox, Peter Agent and Robin Moorby.
Registrations for RTTW open in April, please click the options 'Start Location: Other / Making my own way to the NMA' and choose Surrey Chapter UK as your club at the point of payment.
For more information go to https://www.rttw.org/index.php.
The National memorial Arboretum is a moving garden of remembrance for people of the UK and includes those such as nurses, firemen, postmen, stillborn children, 9/11 victims, road crash victims as well as soldiers, sailors and airmen who died in service since the 2nd World War; for more info take a look at www.thenma.org.uk.
During the day there will be events and live music taking place from 9.30am to 5pm in 4 different locations; Veterans Village, Visitors Centre, Marquees and The Bastion Memorial and possibly some aerial attractions.
The plan is to leave Jacks Cafe, 44 London Rd, Bagshot GU19 5HL, on Friday 1st October at 11.00 and take a mixture of Motorway and A roads. We'll stop for coffee etc at Cherwell Services on the M40. We should arrive at our hotel by 16.00hrs.
You are welcome to ride up later on Friday and join us at the hotel. If you prefer to ride up on the Saturday morning and join us at the NMA for the day please let me know but please note there will not be an offical SCUK lead ride from Surrey on the Saturday.
Our hotel will be the Holiday Inn Express near Burton upon Trent about 8 miles from the NMA which is in Alrewas. Cost is £70 per night including breakfast & wifi.
We will leave the hotel after breakfast on Saturday and arrive around 10.00 at the NMA. Following the Service of Remembrance you can return home or come back to the Hotel. There is also a possibilty on the Sunday on the way home to visit the new Silverstone Experience depending on whether there is a busy racing event. Further information to follow.
If you hope to attend and want a room for the Friday and/or Saturday night then please complete a booking form available via THIS LINK and send in a deposit of £70. Should you find after 27 September that you cannot attend you will be liable for the cost of your room if it cannot then be cancelled.

The RTTW Blessing
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon the roads behind you.
May you be kept safe through rolling hills, twisting turns, from oil, gravel and dim-witted drivers and, until we meet again, may the blessing of the triune God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit
Be upon You, and those whom you, love
Now and always
NB: You remain responsible at all times for the control, safe and legal use of your motorcycle.
