For Operation Loyton the SAS were parachuted behind the enemy lines into occupied France in Autumn 1944; LINK.

As one of my Battlefields Series 81 years on we will be visiting the area and participating in the official memorial activities in the village of Moussey on 6 September.

It's 170 miles from Calais or Dieppe for an overnight stop in Reims and then 180 miles to 88210 Moussey, France, (just south of Nancy).

Riding on the lovely roads of the Alsace region we shall also visit several important WWII sites in the area including the European Centre of Deported Resistance Members and the Lorraine American Cemetery and Memorial‎.

Deposits to SCUK will not be required. However, if visits require a financial commitment you may be asked to transfer some money directly to the organiser. You will be responsible for making your own booking once you are told which is the designated hotel. If you travel by car you may not always be able to follow the motorcycles.

More information to follow.

Please let me know if you are interested in coming along.
